What is a Gamma Gurus' Level 2 Dosimetry Audit?
The Level 2 Dosimetry Audit is an on-site audit designed to evaluate the performance of the facility’s treatment planning system. The facility will plan and deliver a range of fields to a 2D ionisation chamber array, comparing the facility-stated dose to the audit-measured dose.
Who performs the Level 2 audit?
The audit is carried out by one of Gamma Gurus' independent contractors.
Is the person performing the Level 2 audit qualified?
Yes. Our independent contractors are all accredited by the Australian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) to be a Certified, and Qualified Medical Physics Specialist (CMPS/QMPS).
Additionally, Gamma Gurus is a NATA-accredited organisation and can provide your department with a range of dosimetry audits in accordance with ISO/IEC:17025.
Do I have to have any equipment for the Level 2 audit?
Our contractors will provide independently calibrated dosimetry equipment to conduct the Level 2 audit.
The facility will provide a treatment plan. The plan generated by the facility can be beam-matched, centralised or machine-specific. It is the responsibility of the facility to ensure that the treatment plans are created by appropriately trained personnel and that all machines are included in the Level 2 audit.
What does the Level 2 audit check?
Gamma Gurus Level 2 dosimetry audit evaluates the performance of the following modalities.
- 3DCRT
- IMRT
- VMAT
Gamma Gurus Level 2 Dosimetry Audit evaluates the accuracy between the calculated dose from the treatment planning system (TPS) and the delivered dose from the linac.
How do I get the results of my Level 2 audit?
Gamma Gurus will provide you with a full report of your Level 2 audit.
