BIOTIC Phocea was the first laboratory to offer a single-use sterile pigment with class IIb medical device status - RADSAFE®.
Sterile pigments for medical useThese safe pigments are replacing traditional products for endoscopic and integumentary tumour marking.
Why should India ink no longer be used for radiation therapy markings?
- Ink contains impurities,
- Its composition is unknown (ingredients must be known, even for artistic tattooing),
- It is not biocompatible,
- It has not been approved for medical use,
- It is neither sterile, nor single-use,
- The markings are permanent and turn blue.
BIOTIC Phocea’s pigments are offered in different packagings and different colours (white, black and green).
